The Calabasas High School Girls Tennis team has demonstrated exceptional performance in the 2024-2025 season, building upon their previous successes. The team commenced the season with a strong start, securing victories over Oak Park High School and Harvard-Westlake High School. A notable highlight was their 9-9 draw against Westlake High School, where the Coyotes showcased resilience and competitive spirit. This match was particularly significant as it marked the only regular-season loss for the team.
The team's dominance in the Marmonte League was evident as they clinched their first league championship since 2006. In the Marmonte League playoffs, standout performances included Gianna Mucci defeating teammate Alena Kolasova for the singles title, and the doubles duo of Sydney Smith and Charli Kaaya securing the doubles title.
Advancing to the CIF Division I playoffs, the Coyotes continued their impressive run. They commenced with a decisive 13-5 victory over Oak Park High School, followed by an 11-7 win against the 2023 CIF State Champions, Mater Dei. In the quarterfinals, they overcame an undefeated Crossroads High School with an 11-7 triumph, and in the semifinals, they delivered a commanding 14-4 victory over Woodbridge High School. These victories propelled the team to their second consecutive CIF Finals appearance.
In the CIF Finals, the Coyotes faced the Westlake Warriors. The match was closely contested, remaining tied at 3-3 after the first round and 6-6 after the second. Despite the Coyotes' efforts, Westlake's exceptional doubles play proved decisive, leading to a 10-8 victory for the Warriors. This outcome, while a setback, underscored the team's competitive prowess and the high level of play in the Marmonte League.
