The Calabasas High School Baseball team is preparing for the 2024-2025 season with a blend of seasoned seniors and promising underclassmen. Under the guidance of Head Coach Thomas Cassidy, the Coyotes aim to build upon their recent successes, including a CIF Division 2 South Regional Title and consecutive Marmonte League championships in 2022 and 2023.
Key Players:
Seniors:
Matthew Witkow (Infielder): Committed to Harvard University, Witkow brings leadership and a strong offensive presence to the lineup.
AJ Seidel (Infielder): Set to join Tufts University, Seidel's defensive skills and consistent batting are vital assets.
Luc Olson (Left-Handed Pitcher): Olson's pitching is expected to play a crucial role in the Coyotes' rotation.
Connor Pink (Right-Handed Pitcher/Infielder): Committed to Grinnell College, Pink offers versatility both on the mound and in the infield.
Jack Quirk (Catcher): Heading to Menlo College, Quirk's experience behind the plate is invaluable for managing the pitching staff.
Juniors:
Nathan Rosenfeld (Outfielder): Rosenfeld's speed and defensive range make him a key component of the outfield.
Luke Carlis (Infielder/Right-Handed Pitcher): Carlis contributes both as a reliable infielder and a pitcher, showcasing his dual-threat capability.
Luke Szymanski (Right-Handed Pitcher): Szymanski is anticipated to be a part of the pitching lineup, bringing depth to the rotation.
Team Outlook:
The Coyotes are integrating new talent into pivotal roles following the graduation of key players like Nate Castellon and Jordan Kingston. The development and performance of these emerging athletes will be instrumental in the team's pursuit of reclaiming the competitive Marmonte League title from Westlake High School.
Notable Games:
The Coyotes' non-league slate for the 2024-2025 basketball season is packed with exciting matchups, featuring notable opponents such as Chaminade, Taft, Camarillo, and Valencia.
As usual, their Marmonte League schedule contains 15 games against Oaks Christian, Agoura, Thousand Oaks, Newbury, and Westlake High School. Calabasas will look to avenge their runner-up finish in 2024 and secure their fourth Marmonte League title, building on a strong foundation and competitive edge within one of Southern California's premier high school leagues.
